How can a fire-fighting pump be quickly started in the event of a fire?

1. Zero Signal Delay
Dual signals from the fire alarm control panel or pressure switch are connected in parallel and fed directly into the pump control cabinet without passing through an additional relay. The dual power supply switching device has an actuation time of ≤2 seconds, meeting the requirements of GB 50974-2014.
2. Combined Use of Soft Start and Direct Start for Motors
• Electric pumps ≤132 kW: Direct-on-line (DOL) starts within 20–30 seconds to reach rated operating conditions.
• >132 kW or diesel engines: Soft start, star-delta, or fast diesel generator sets are used to start the pump and boost pressure within 55 seconds.
• High-end diesel pumps: Electronic fuel injection and a preheating system allow full load in 5–15 seconds. 3. Pump Unit "Hot Standby"

The diesel generator set is preheated to 50°C at all times. The electric pump performs a 1-minute self-test every 24 hours, ensuring optimal bearing lubrication and coupling alignment, and starts without sticking.
